Youngstown Yoga

I am very happy to be guiding yoga at River View Fitness in Youngstown. For several years River View Fitness has offered an upscale yet quaint boutique style gym with an amazing view of the Niagara River. Now they have expanded by offering group fitness classes as well in addition to weight machines, free weights, and cardio equip. Our Yoga practice space is in a separate area from the main gym connected by a covered stairway.

Imagine getting your Zen on as we face large windows (which fully open up) to the west overlooking the Niagara River and Niagara-on-the-Lake, Canada. We can even see the British Flag waving over Ft. George!

In addition to a most welcoming view, the yoga space is very comfortable and accommodating and even sports a fireplace to make us cozy on those cold winter days!

Currently I am instructing 3 classes weekly. These are gentle Hatha Flow All Level Classes, so regardless of your ability or experience, you can be sure to fit right in.

Lotus Peacock Pose Whirlpool State Park Niagara Falls

Padmamayurasana AKA Lotus Peacock Pose is a great posture for strengthening abs, back, arms, and wrists. Develops balance, flexibility, strength, and confidence. The Lotus portion of the pose involves the crossing and interlocking of the legs and Peacock is the balancing of the body with the arms.

Crow Pose at Ion Yoga Niagara Falls

Here we have Justin of Healthy Rabbit rockin a nice and high Kakasana / Crow Pose with as he is moving towards Bakasana / Crane Pose. Crane is almost exactly the same as crow except the arms are completely straight without a bend in the elbows. With the lift that Justin has I can already see him pressing into handstand.

This was during our “ADVANCE YOUR PRACTICE WORKSOP” I instruct every Sat morning at Ion yoga in Niagara Falls. This is a really fun class designed for anyone in good health and has an adventurous spirit. Instructors are especially welcome so if you’re wanting to advance your practice with arm balances, inversions, and powerful transitional flows, make sure to join us!

Clearwater Beach the morning after spending a wonderful evening in a penthouse suit over-looking the gulf celebrating my 58th birthday with my beautiful wife Daniela, who also took this picture btw. This posture is Eka Pada Koundinyasana 1 or One Leg Side Crow, which as you might imagine is often entered into by transitioning from Side Crow (Parsva Bakasana). EPK1 is a great pose to test flexibility, strength, and balance.
