Does this qualify as Yoga? Well it is definitely Plank (Kumbhakasana) only with arms extended out in front of me rather than down to the floor. Maybe “Extended Air Plank” could be another appropriate name? Planks are great for building core strength and determination of will. A few months back I was challenged by a Yogi friend of mine to hold a 5 minute plank. We used a progressive schedule which allowed us to hit the 5 minute mark over a period of a few weeks if I remember correctly. Lots of fun and beneficial too as core strength is essential in numerous asana and for general all purpose moving about in the world.
